Coach Crotty named 2023 Under Armour Coach of the Year
Middlesex Magic Coach Michael Crotty was named 2023 Under Armour Association Coach of the year! This marks the second year in a row that Coach Crotty has earned this honor, tabbed by “The Circuit,” as he also won it in 2022. Coach Crotty led the 17u Middlesex Magic to the 2023 UAA Championship, and 6 players from the team have already committed to Division1 Schools: Austin Hunt (Harvard), Justin Menard (Iona), CJ Happy (Princeton), Luka Toews (Boston College), Ryan Mela (Providence) and Jacob Hogarth (Iona).
In just the program’s second year on the circuit the Middlesex Magic claimed their 3rd overall Under Armour championship (2022 16u Spring Champions, 2022 17u Spring Champions and 2023 17u UAA Champions). Coach Crotty said, “This is a tremendous honor, and I want to thank Chris Giordano and Bill Boyle, because this is a staff coach of the year award, and I would not be half the coach I am without them. For us to win this honor in each of our first two years on the Uber Armour Circuit is something we are so proud of. All successful coaches have amazing players that make them look good. This year’s team is one of the best Magic teams of all time, and I am so grateful for the relationships I have developed with each and every one of them.”
