Middlesex Magic earns Under Armour deal, set to join UAA in 2022
The Middlesex Magic, established in 1993, will begin a new era in 2022 as they have signed a contract with Under Armour to be 1 of 26 teams on the Boys Under Armour Association. The Boys Under Armour Association provides elite travel teams with a league-style circuit at the 17U and 16U level. The teams participate in 12 regular season games that transition into a single-elimination championship bracket at the UAA Finals in July, to crown the UAA Champions.
“We are thrilled to bring our culture and style of team play to one of the best grassroots circuits in the country,” said Magic President, Michael Crotty Jr. “Our talented and hard working players have long thrived playing against the best competition and on the UAA circuit, we will compete against the best in the country and beyond. Over 440 of our alumni have played at all college levels, professionally and have two current NBA players. Now, our program will be front and center on a national stage and we are very proud and eager to seize this opportunity.”
From the UAA, “For many youth basketball athletes, playing at the collegiate level is a dream; a dream that requires daily grind and determination to overcome constant challenges and tests. The pursuit of getting better is different for everyone, but there’s still only one possible mindset—The Only Way Is Through. It’s an understanding that to reach the goal of playing at the next level, athletes must stay the path to come out on the other side faster, stronger, and better. Under Armour’s grassroots basketball circuits offer boys and girls the opportunity to not only improve, but also showcase skills and talents en route to their dreams of playing in college.”
