Best Memories Playing with the Middlesex Magic

I vividly remember the first day of tryouts with the Middlesex Magic, when I met Coach Crotty Sr. and a soon to be teammate, Hassan Fofana.  I was immediately welcomed and enjoyed the atmosphere of family as well as competition.  My best memories are traveling with the team. WOW. We had so much fun on and off the court.  Traveling to Orlando to the Wide World of Sports and competing against some of the best basketball players in the country.  Off the court, all of my teammates were such great guys and friends, and I still talk about some of the stories and how I it was as hard as I have laughed in my life. I was blessed to have an opportunity to be a part of this organization and share some of the best memories on and off the court with some GREAT people that really had a major positive influence in my life.

How the Middlesex Magic helped me the most

The Middlesex Magic gave me the opportunity to grow as a person more than anything. This is an incredible program because it is bigger than basketball.  The program is about developing young men, putting them in positions to have success and giving them opportunities to change their lives for the better. This program really helped teach me how to be a leader on and off the court; I learned how to compete at the highest level, and I learned how to be a winner on and off the court.  Coach Crotty also taught me how to inspire others by my actions, not just by my words. I gained confidence and learned that anything is possible through hard work and determination.

The Middlesex Magic program also taught me the value of hard work and how out work the next person to maximize your potential.  The Magic was a great support system for me. I learned so much of what shaped me into the man I am today because I was surrounded by so many positive, influential people in the program. I cannot stress this enough and I will be forever grateful. I am sure I speak for many people when I say that Coach Crotty Sr. was like another father to me. He always knew how to challenge me, motivate me and bring the best out of me. Being a part of the Middlesex Magic organization will always be one of the greatest life shaping experiences of my life. I cannot thank the organization enough, especially Mike Crotty Sr and his entire family for what they have done for me. Thanks Coach. I love you. RIP.
